The historic village
The original village of Placitas sits along NM-165 near the Las Huertas area, with older adobe homes, some of them added onto many times. Roofs here are often a patchwork: original flat sections, later additions, metal over older roofs, and layers built up over decades.
What we find
- Multiple layers on flat roofs that may hold moisture
- Additions joined to original roofs at awkward angles
- Old canales that are rusted or tilted
- Adobe walls damaged by water running down them
Our approach
We find out what's under the surface before recommending anything. Wet layers come out, transitions get rebuilt, and canales are set to throw water away from adobe walls. We keep the character of the house while making the roof watertight.

Questions homeowners ask
My roof has several old layers. Do they all come off?
Wet or failing layers should; dry, firmly attached ones may stay depending on weight and condition.
Can you keep the look of an old adobe home?
Yes — parapets, canales and rooflines stay true to the house.
Do you fix adobe walls?
We fix the roof and drainage that cause damage; wall repair may involve a plaster crew.
