Where we find Placitas leaks
- Transitions — where a flat roof meets a pitched one, or a lower roof meets a taller wall.
- Parapets — cracked caps and stucco, split inside corners.
- Canales — loose seals, wrong slope, or rust-through on older metal ones.
- Skylights and clerestory windows — curb flashing and sealant failures.
- Solar and equipment mounts — attachments that weren't flashed into the roof.
- Wind-driven rain — water pushed sideways under flashing and trim during storms.
How we find it
We start at the stain, then work uphill and outward on the roof, checking every joint and penetration nearby. Water often travels along a parapet or a deck board before it shows up inside, so the source can be several feet away from the drip.
If it's leaking right now
Catch the water, protect what's below, and call (505) 230-4024. If the weather allows, we can make a temporary repair and come back for the permanent fix.

Questions homeowners ask
Why does it only leak when the wind blows?
Wind-driven rain gets pushed under flashing and trim that stay dry in calm rain.
Can solar panels cause leaks?
Yes, if the mounts weren't properly flashed. We can fix the roof side and coordinate with your solar company.
My skylight leaks — do I need a new one?
Often the flashing or curb is the problem, not the skylight itself.
